Starting in 2024, urbanSTEW officially started to maintain the Pd++ codebase. This includes all of the various sub-projects of Pd++ like Pd4P3, Pd4Unity (Unreal, Wwise and FMOD too). Pd++ is a C++ implementation of Pure Data’s DSP objects. With Pd++ it has become possible to create other branches of this library to interface with Processing, Open Frameworks, Unity, Unreal, Wwise, FMOD among others.
Making open source tools and educating the public on computing in the arts is our core mission. We will continue to maintain, update and innovate with this library and deliver the best audio, music and art making tools as we can.
Added bonus: We have just been accepted to the International Computer Music Conference 2026, in Hamburg, Germany. The white paper ” Pd++: A C++ Library of Pure Data’s DSP Objects” was accepted to the conference. It outlines the construction and implementation of this library in detail. (will post paper here when final version is ready for publishing)
